The Last ever Salsa Cellar

The Salsa Cellar news:

The Last ever Salsa Cellar

Hello All. Please take a moment to read this as it’s MOST IMPORTANT and groundbreaking news as of yesterday 23rd July 2012.
The management of the Kings Head in Crouch End have had grand designs, and have decided to make changes to downstairs. This includes taking direct control of several nights including Mondays. The plan is to have a mini refurb. And introduce fixed seating which will reduce the dance floor space.
This means that next Monday, 30th July will be the CLOSING DOWN AT THE KNGS HEAD SALSA PARTY!
As you know, Fliss and I were planning on taking a break from the Kings Head due to holiday commitments etc through August and re-launching in September but it’s now the case that Monday 30th will be the last Salsa night here. This is not our doing at all but we have been given no choice as it seems a non negotiable situation.
The Salsa Cellar has been the longest running North London salsa venue since 1995 and so it’s a real ‘end of era’ moment. We would love anyone and everyone who has been to salsa here over the years to come and join the farewell party on Monday and give it a good send off. We’d also like to thank, most importantly, all of you who have supported us over the years – friends, clients, musicians, salseros and salseras alike – we wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for your continuing support. We’d also like to thank comedy promoter Peter Grahame who’s been our direct contact over the years at the Kings Head, and wish him the continued success of “Downstairs at the Kings Head”
Classes as usual from 7.30 on Monday 30th July, with Alastair and Jim (please be prompt – more party time!) and then last chance to dance salsa at the Kings Head!
Please spread the word.
Classes and club at the Cuban in Camden remain unaffected.
